Q App makes its debut at the Royal Albert Hall

-  Royal Albert Hall embraces new technology with introduction of app-based ordering for food and drink

-  Customers can order from their box, to be delivered there or collected from one of the venue’s 14 bars

-  More choice and more ways to enjoy food and drink at the venue

The Royal Albert Hall, one of the world’s most famous concert venues, has selected the leading mobile ordering platform Q App to enable its visitors to order and pay for food and drink from their mobile phones, following a successful trial. The service is already available for in-box ordering and at the venue’s North Circle Bar and will be extended to the remaining 13 bars operated by “rhubarb” over the coming weeks.

The introduction of the app will give customers even more choice in how they order food and drink when attending the Royal Albert Hall.

Q App platform removes the need for customers to queue, instead enabling them to browse the full menu, order and pay from their mobile phones. The customer is sent an alert when his or her order is ready for collection via a separate Q App Fast Lane, situated at each participating bar within the Hall. In addition, those sitting in one of the Hall’s 140 boxes can choose to have their order delivered directly to their box.

Christopher Rettie, Director of “rhubarb” at the Royal Albert Hall added: “Q App has created a highly innovative approach to in-venue ordering and introduced further efficiencies to our food and drink operations during trials. The platform has enabled us to present the entire menu for each of our bars, highlight promotions or special products, take orders from customers before they even get to the venue and it also reduces cash processing. It is an elegant solution to an age-old problem of queuing.”
